- DWG 2010/2011 Compatibility
The native format for iCADMac® is DWG, which offers an unrivalled compatibility with AutoCAD® without need for file conversion and no risk for data loss. Moreover, iCADMac enables you to export your drawing files in most of the previous AutoCAD® DWG and DXF versions. It supports AutoCAD® DWG/DXF from version 2.5 through 2011.
This is the most convenient and reliable format for view drawings on the Apple iPad™
- PDF Export
The PDF format is a comfortable format for publication of your documents that can be read through Acrobat Reader. Acrobat Reader is a free tool present on the majority of PCs and freely available for download on the Internet. iCADMac creates PDF files corresponding to the view chosen for printing. Your drawings can be delivered to customers and suppliers using this easy and reliable format.
- PDF Import
Thanks to the our PDF2DWG module, you can create a DWG file by importing a PDF vector file and use it as a standard iCADMac drawing.
PDF files, having been edited on iPAD, can be imported and converted to the DWG format for iCADMac. This can be a useful, time saving tool by importing PDF component drawings that you can readily find on the Internet.
- iPad™, iPhone®, and iPod touch® Support
iCADMac DWG drawings can be brought onto the Apple iPad thanks to the free AutoCAD® WS application.
Drawings are transferred via email onto iPad™ (iPhone®, iPod®), where they can be then displayed, edited by inserting various notes defined on the construction site, in the factory, during your customer meetings, etc.
These drawings can then be transferred to your Mac by means of the free account available on the AutoCAD® WS website.
Additionally, thanks to the iCADMac PDF export function and one of the many applications for adding note to PDF available on the iPad, you can use this universal format to share and edit your projects. These marked up PDF files can then be imported back into iCADMac converting the PDF's into DWG by means of the pdf2DWG module.
- Gradient Hatch
iCADMac can create gradient hatches by specifying a hatch that uses a smooth transition between two colours or between a lighter and darker shade of the same colour.
The gradient hatch function creates drawings for presentations directly in iCADMac without any additional specific software.
You can also display drawings containing gradient hatches created in AutoCAD
- Tables
A table is a collection of cells that can contain data of various kinds, from notes to blocks. Tables can be used for bills of materials, component lists, revisions and text to organize and manage information within your drawings. In a table the data is organized into lines and columns. Tables can be created and customized by the user who can choose their view by defining a style that can be applied to the tables.
- Image insertion and clip
You can insert, edit and clip Raster images (scanned images, photos, images from the Internet, etc.). in a drawing. iCADMac also allows displaying and inserting images in jpeg, bmp, gif, and png formats as well as images with polygona clip areas.
- Polygonal Viewports
In layout you can create rectangular and polygonal Viewports. This feature offers maximum flexibility when creating printing tables.
- Xref - External references
XREFs, or external references, are .dwg drawing files referenced in the current drawing. In the case that an XREF is attached to the current drawing, any modification made to the XREF drawing is displayed when the XREF is reloaded, or the drawing is opened again.
A drawing can be attached as an XREF to multiple drawings, as well as multiple drawings can be attached as an XREF to the same drawing.
XREFs can be inserted in either model or paper space, they can be rotated, scaled or positioned at any given coordinates as well as their layers being visible or invisible.
- Standard Interface
iCADMac offers a working environment featuring standard CAD menus and toolbars in combination with a recognizable Mac OS X application user interface.
- Property Bar
The Property bar enables you to access all entity characteristics in a drawing. Through the simple and intuitive interface you can edit such entity properties as colour, line type, layer, referenced points, URL etc.
- Additional Hatches
Apart from the hatches normally available in a CAD program, you can find over 300 additional hatch patterns for tiles, walls, floors, panels, ground, bricks, glass, wood etc.
- Rendering
iCADMac proposes the basic rendering module with multiple Lights and Shadow support.
The advanced Ray-tracing module with materials, reflection, transparency and smooth shadows will be available soon as an option module.
- Multilines
Multiline objects can consist up to 16 parallel lines, called “elements”. Multilines allow quick creation of walls, roads, insulation etc. iCADMac offers a complete configuration mask specially designed to define various multiline styles.
- ACIS® Solids
iCADMac reads and writes 3D solid objects with the ACIS Solid Modeling libraries (the same as AutoCAD®)
Essential for those who deal with Industrial Design, Dies, complex architectural elements and generally for any application in which creating complex three-dimensional shapes quickly and easily.
ACIS solids are available thanks to an agreement signed with Spatial, the supplier of technology for solid modelling to many of the most important CAD software companies in the world.
iCADMac has implemented complete management of ACIS solids including viewing, printing, creating and editing.
Exchange of CAD project data with other CAD software which uses ACIS Solids (such as AutoCAD®) is therefore a simple process!
Creating complex three-dimensional shapes by using solid models is made easier in comparison with the more traditional techniques.
- iCADLib - Advanced Blocks Libraries
20.000 Blocks are ready to be used for Construction, Architectural, Furnishing, 3D Furnishing, Mechanics, Electrical, Electronics, Steel profiles and many others industries. Thanks to the Blocks Library Management module it is quick and easy to find a symbol you need. iCADLib can be also used to manage libraries of symbols or personal that already exist.
- Traceparts
iCADLib includes the access to Traceparts for progeCAD: Advanced integration with the progeCAD's Traceparts web portal for easy guided usage of more than 100 millions of blocks.
Directly guided block insertion from the web to your drawings just in a snap.
- Customization
